Who runs BrainRush
BrainRush is a personal project run by Ahmed Fahim ("we" on this page). There are no user accounts, and we don't run analytics of our own.
On our server
When a game starts, we save the date and time, the player or team names (for a Streak Challenge, the challenger name you enter), and the chosen categories in a daily log file. Only the site owner can read it. We use it to see how the game is played. We never sell or share it. To have a name removed, email us.
When a Streak Challenge run ends with a streak of 1 or more, we save the challenger name you entered, the streak and the date and time of the run. The public streak leaderboard shows everyone the top 10, one row per person with their best run, name and date, so use a name you're happy to show. The site owner can remove a run at any time; to have yours removed, email us.
In your browser
The running game (or Streak Challenge run) and the list of questions you've played are saved in your browser (local storage), so a refresh doesn't lose your game and new games pick questions you haven't seen. To choose those questions, the game sends the numbers of the played questions to our server, but nothing that identifies you. Forget played questions on the setup screen, or clearing this site's data in your browser, removes the list.
Ads and cookies
BrainRush may show ads from Google AdSense on the Streak leaderboard screen, never during a game. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show these ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud. Ads may be personalised based on your earlier visits to this and other websites.
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent before using cookies for ads. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy link in that message.

- To turn off personalised ads from Google, use Google Ads Settings. For other ad companies, see aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
- An ad blocker hides the ads and doesn't affect the game.
BrainRush itself doesn't set any tracking or analytics cookies.
Android app
The BrainRush app for Android opens this same website full screen in Chrome on your phone. It saves the same data as the website, as described on this page, and adds nothing of its own: no account and no tracking. The app shows no ads, so the Ads and cookies section above applies to the website only. Installing the app from Google Play is covered by Google's own privacy policy.
Hosting
Our hosting provider (Hostinger) may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, to run and protect its servers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
